What to expect during the tour

Introduction to Coffee Cultivation 

Learn about coffee cultivation. Types of coffee cultivated in the region, various stages of growth and farming techniques used in the region, including organic farming practices.

Harvesting and Processing

Depending on the season, you may get the chance to observe or participate in the coffee cherry harvesting process. You will also get a chance to hear about the different processing methods used to turn coffee cherries into green beans, including wet processing (washing) and dry processing (natural).

Roasting and Grinding

Witness the coffee roasting process, which is essential for developing the beans’ flavors and learn about different grinding techniques and how they influence the brewing process.

Brewing and Tasting
Experience various brewing methods, such as espresso, pour-over, or traditional Tanzanian brewing techniques, and engage in a cupping session to taste different coffee profiles and learn to identify distinct flavors, aromas, and textures.

Mt. Kilimanjaro Day Hike

Trails and Routes

Marangu Route Day Hike

Starting Point at Marangu Gate (1,860 meters / 6,102 feet) and takes approximately 6-8 hours round trip. Trek through lush rainforest, have a chance to spot Colobus monkeys and a variety of bird species before reaching Mandara Hut (2,720 meters / 8,923 feet). The camp offers beautiful views and a chance to rest before heading back. The route is moderately difficult.

Machame Route Day Hike

Starts at Machame Gate and takes about 6-7 hours round trip. In this trail, you will walk through a dense rainforest and observe the diverse flora and fauna reaching Machame Camp at 2,835 meters.  This moderate to challenging hike has a rewarding scenery

Shira Plateau Day Hike

You will be dropped off at Morum Barrier Gate (3,400 meters) to start the hike which takes about 8 round trip, crossing acrossing the scenic Shira Plateau with its open moorlands and stunning views of Kibo Peak.

This moderately difficult hike provides a chance to experience the higher altitudes and expansive landscapes of the western side of Kilimanjaro.

Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour

This hike start at Materuni Village (near Moshi) and takes approximately 3-4 hours round trip. Its the least challenging of the hikes and takes you to the beautiful Materuni Waterfall. You will also have an optional visit to a local coffee farm to learn about coffee cultivation and participate in a coffee-making process.

Arusha National Park Day Trip

A Typical Safari in a single day

This is a typical safari trip only that it happens in one day. You will need to arrive at the agreed pick up point early in the morning. After breakfast and a briefing from our representative, you will head out to Arusha National Park  which is about 45 minutes drive from Arusha City centre.

Here you will have a chance to see various animals such as elephants, giraffes, leopards, hippos, zebra, red duikers, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, and different types of monkeys. The park also boasts more than 400 species of birds and is decorated by spectacular landscapes such as Mount Meru, Kekukumia River, scenic view of Momella Lakes, tropical forest glades, and Ngurdoto Crater.

Meserani Snake Park

Meserani Snake Park is a unique attraction located about 25 kilometers west of Arusha on the road to Dodoma. The park is dedicated to educating visitors about reptiles, particularly snakes, and providing a safe haven for these often misunderstood creatures.

 Learn about the park’s efforts in rescuing and rehabilitating injured or captured reptiles, and their role in conservation and education.

Snake Exhibits: The park houses a wide range of snake species, both venomous and non-venomous, including cobras, mambas, pythons, and puff adders.

Crystal Clear Waters

The warm water springs are fed by an underground river, resulting in crystal-clear, turquoise waters. while the commonly referred to as hot springs, the water is pleasantly warm and perfect for swimming.

The springs are surrounded by lush greenery, including fig and palm trees, creating a tropical oasis in the middle of the savanna. The dense canopy provides shaded areas, making it a perfect spot for relaxing and escaping the heat.

The clear waters are perfect for a refreshing swim with shallow areas for wading and deeper sections for diving.

Natural Spa: Tiny fish in the springs provide a natural pedicure by nibbling on dead skin, a unique and ticklish experience.

Facilities: The area is quite basic in terms of facilities. There are changing rooms and some picnic tables, but amenities are limited.

Tips for trip to Kikuletwa

  1. Bring your swimsuit, as you’ll definitely want to take a dip in the inviting waters.
  2. Pack towels for drying off and extra clothes for changing after your swim.
  3. Even though there is shade, it’s still a good idea to bring sun protections.
  4. The area around the springs can be rocky, consider wearing proper footwear
  5. Bring your own snacks and plenty of water, options are limited on site.
  6. Keep the area clean by disposing of any trash properly and respecting the natural surroundings.
